Reminders and Homework 9/30

Reminders :  Picture Day is Thursday, October 3 - SMILE :) We are headed to the Flynn Theater on October 8th to listen to John Lewis speak about his book,  March . Students need to bring a bag lunch or order from the Cafeteria. Hot lunch will not be available to them that day.  Homework : Homework assignments are written daily on our homework boards within our classrooms. Students are also reminded about assignments on a daily basis. In general, homework is a continuation of what we're doing in class, and students get a good deal of time to work on assignments during the school day.   For the 8th grade year, this blog will be used for reminders and announcements and intermittently for daily homework. At the high school, teachers do not post their homework in one common place. This means that students need to take the initiative to write it down and come up with their own successful organizational strategies.  Please continue to check PowerSchool to monitor your child

September 3 Reminders and Assignments

We hope you had a great Labor Day weekend! A friendly reminder on student supplies for the year: students need earbuds every day for Lexia literacy skills and iReady math. The school has provided some earbuds for students who do not have their own, but they do not tend to last very long. We would greatly appreciate your help in providing earbuds or headphones for your child. We also asked for tissues and wipes to share in the learning community. Thank you to those families that did provide some. Every cold season, we run out of tissues, so any help you can give (now or later in the year) is appreciated. Lastly, pencils. Please make sure that students have pencils all year - it helps hugely to have them come to class prepared.  Assignments : General :     - Name posters are due by the end of the week.     - Business cards are due by the end of the week. LA:      - Independent reading goal due Friday.
