Welcome back and supplies

Greetings! We are looking forward to teaching your child again when they return next week as eighth graders. It promises to be an incredible adventure, filled with activities and experiences aimed at preparing every student for high school and beyond. This letter is intended to help your son or daughter be successful in the coming year. What does this look like for us?  We will maintain high expectations in our learning community.  We expect each student to do their best work all the time.  It doesn’t mean everybody has to be perfect.  It does mean that we want everybody to demonstrate the effort needed to progress to the best of their ability. What does this look like for you?  With greater emphasis on independent learning, we ask parents to help their child by not giving them the answers.  Instead, hold back, and ask leading questions that push your child to think for him or herself.  We realize this will not occur overnight, but we will be working on this in the classroom
