Reminders:

Please complete and return the paperwork for Northern Lights by TOMORROW. There are two different forms in the packet that require a parent/guardian signature in order for your child to be able to attend the field trip on Monday. Thank you!

Homework

LA:
     - Reading Log #3 due Thursday 9/22 - Part 2: Find and record 1 example of "showing" writing. What does it show? (Example: "I felt my face turning redder and redder." This shows she is embarrassed.)
     - Writing Workshop piece due Tuesday 9/20 (2 pages maximum, double spaced, 11 or 12 pt font)
SS:
     - Finish Section 1 questions if not done in class due tomorrow.

Math:
      - Probability sheet 2 due tomorrow.
      - Math Mates 1.1 due Tuesday.

Science:
     - Current Events Article and Outline due Friday 9/16
     - "Up Against the Wall" due Tuesday
     - What if you could go back in time? 2 paragraphs min. due Friday 9/23

Happy Spring! I hope you got out for a walk today. Lexia Reminders: Here is the link to access Lexia . Your username and password should be the same as your google login. Please email your teacher if you can’t log in. Please try to do 15-20 minutes a day. The goal should be 15-20 units per week.  Technology Survey : Do you need a Chromebook from school? There was a technology survey sent to parents on Monday, but if you didn’t fill it out, we don’t know that you need a Chromebook.  Book Check-In:   Today you should be working on your second reading and Job #2. Please remember to check your email daily and ask questions as they come up!

Google Meets for Video Conferencing: Guidelines for Families

We will be using Google Hangouts/Meets for online video meetings. Here is a document with Guidelines for Families . We have heard from many parents regarding permission to video conference with your child. If you have not already, p lease contact us if you would not like your child to participate for any reason. Ms. Westbrook and Ms. Berry have set up book group meetings to check in with students. Invitations for meetings have been sent to students' emails. A student can also request meetings outside of scheduled meetings. Thank you for your continued support.

While it won’t be official until after approval from the superintendent, we are hopeful that our 2018 class trip will be to Montreal. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to raise money for our trip. On Friday, June 8th, students will arrive at SATEC, as usual, and depart for Montreal at approximately 8:30 a.m. In the past, we have visited the Biodome, the Planetarium, the Olympic Tower, the Underground City (underground mall), and Mont Royal. Our plans, including the date, are subject to change over the next month, as we iron out the details. We anticipate visiting two or three sites, and much depends on ticket prices and event times. We will return to SATEC that same evening, and students will need to be picked
