Homework April 1 and Parent Informational Night

PARENT INFORMATIONAL NIGHT - April 10th from 6:30-7:30, area experts will be sharing critical information with parents on drugs, alcohol and vaping. We realize that these can be difficult times for families and teens in terms of this issue. Regrettably, adolescence can be a time when young people are faced with the tough choices of drug and alcohol use and experimentation. The MRUSD staff would like to reach out to partner with students and families to help students make healthy choices. This event will be held at Collins Perley.
LA:
      - Fever 1793 reading (pages 24-33) and Job #3 due Tuesday
                                         (pages 34-45) and Job#4 due Wednesday
                                         (pages 46-62) and Job#5 due Thursday
      - Reading Log #5 due 4/4

SS:
     - Current Events Project presentations due Thursday 4/4

Math:
     - Positive and Negative numbers worksheet due Tuesday.
     - Math Mates 3.8 due Monday

Science:

     - None

While it won’t be official until after approval from the superintendent, we are hopeful that our 2018 class trip will be to Montreal. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to raise money for our trip. On Friday, June 8th, students will arrive at SATEC, as usual, and depart for Montreal at approximately 8:30 a.m. In the past, we have visited the Biodome, the Planetarium, the Olympic Tower, the Underground City (underground mall), and Mont Royal. Happy Spring! I hope you got out for a walk today. Lexia Reminders: Here is the link to access Lexia . Your username and password should be the same as your google login. Please email your teacher if you can’t log in. Please try to do 15-20 minutes a day. The goal should be 15-20 units per week.  Technology Survey : Do you need a Chromebook from school? There was a technology survey sent to parents on Monday, but if you didn’t fill it out, we don’t know that you need a Chromebook.  Book Check-In:   Today you should be working on your second reading and Job #2. Please remember to check your email daily and ask questions as they come up!

Distance Learning Update and Calendar for April 13-April 24

April 10th, 2020 Good Evening 8th Graders and Parents, Everybody’s health and well being is of the utmost concern and should be our number one priority.  We hope you are maintaining a schedule that provides time for exercise, fun, and time with friends, as well as maintaining the proper attention to your learning goals. A big high five to those of you who have managed to take this transition in stride and complete all (or many) of your assignments on time. We know that this has been a major adjustment period for many of you.  One of the parents compared this transition to school at home as putting the end of a fire hose in your mouth and opening it full blast!
