Thursday, 12/20 Homework

Holiday Greetings! 

Note to parents: Friday will be an academic school day. There will be a Spelling and Vocab quiz in LA and a Holiday party in the afternoon to celebrate students who are all caught up with homework/classwork and a study hall to get caught up for all students who are not. Students may bring in baked goods/food for our afternoon to share. Please remember we have peanut allergies, so stay away from nut based ingredients! 

Additionally, Mrs. Westbrook will be returning after break. Mrs. Westbrook and I will be co-teaching until January 8th, which will be my last day. I consider myself extremely lucky to have had the chance to teach your young learners.

Happy Spring! I hope you got out for a walk today. Lexia Reminders: Here is the link to access Lexia . Your username and password should be the same as your google login. Please email your teacher if you can’t log in. Please try to do 15-20 minutes a day. The goal should be 15-20 units per week.  Technology Survey : Do you need a Chromebook from school? There was a technology survey sent to parents on Monday, but if you didn’t fill it out, we don’t know that you need a Chromebook.  Book Check-In:   Today you should be working on your second reading and Job #2. Please remember to check your email daily and ask questions as they come up!

Distance Learning Update and Calendar for April 13-April 24

April 10th, 2020 Good Evening 8th Graders and Parents, Everybody’s health and well being is of the utmost concern and should be our number one priority.  We hope you are maintaining a schedule that provides time for exercise, fun, and time with friends, as well as maintaining the proper attention to your learning goals. A big high five to those of you who have managed to take this transition in stride and complete all (or many) of your assignments on time. We know that this has been a major adjustment period for many of you.  One of the parents compared this transition to school at home as putting the end of a fire hose in your mouth and opening it full blast!
